2nd Generation of computer

 2^nd Generation of computers  are identified for the use of transistors .Transistors are static device which where more efficient vaccum tubes in regulative the flow of electricity .These were very discrite element during this time .   Transistors where invended in 1947 for the use of computer circuitry in late fifties  .

                                                         Computer manufactured using transistors where smaller chieper  ,more than energy efficient  the  1^st generaton of counterd parts .In this generation  these machine used punched cards as where input elements in also these machine is used to print outs in output . 2^nd  generation of computers where able to program symbolic language  is called assembly language . These mahine where able to understand the instruction is words  . some high level  language is like COBOL and FORTRAN .Where also development during this generation of computers  ALGOL  and SNOBOL  ,are other language are developed this generation of computers in the period .  

                         

                                             2^nd generation of computers is also able to first store and instruction in the mainly  , they moved from magnetic dram to magnetic core tehnology .

v  They consumed less electricity than 1^st generation of computers .

v  They were faster , chieper , smaller more reliable .

v  These were able to program with assembly language .

v  These computers are faster and larger secondary storage .                                                                                                  

                       

                                    Disadvantage

Ø  2^nd generation of computers where magnifactured are transistors  all the transistors are duilted.

Ø  These mahine are costly than 1^st generation of computer.
